After losing much of its heavy armor in the Moscow offensive, 2nd Panzer was assigned anti-partisan duties in Central Russia. In July, the 2nd continued to meet heavy resistance from the partisan elements of the Lazo Group. In the meantime, forces from the 2nd Guards Motorized Division launched their own counterattack, threatening the division's flanks.
Objectives: Your company is currently parceled out performing various tasks in the area. Your platoon is to move east on the road, destroying all enemy strongpoints encountered. Clear the road as far as the objective. Proper use of your machine guns will be very critical; remember to use them at close range. Stay "buttoned up" inside your vehicle unless you are sure that the area is clear of enemy emplacements. Expect to contend with light antitank guns, antitank rifles and machine gun positions.
